Telephoto Lenses with Long Focal Distance for High-resolution SWIR Cameras from InfraTec

Effective immediately, the cameras of the ImageIR® series operating in the short-wave infrared range are able to measure objects over very large distances.

In addition to the camera sensor used, an essential part of a camera system is the infrared lens. The quality of the lenses is a critical factor for creating high-resolution thermograms. For this reason, InfraTec offers an extensive assortment of lenses, which ranges from micro-thermography all the way to normal lens applications for capturing fine-textured measuring objects at a large distance. The combination of a camera system with interchangeable lenses of various focal distances is a prerequisite for a very wide range of applications and an ideal depiction of real measuring scenarios.

Extension of the assortment of lenses for all SWIR infrared cameras
For the ImageIR® 8100 and ImageIR® 9100 SWIR infrared cameras from InfraTec there is already a wide assortment of lenses, consisting of standard lenses up to 16 mm as well as various telephoto lenses up to 50 mm focal distance and a wide-angle lens with 8 mm. Effective immediately, both SWIR camera models can now also be combined with a telephoto lens with 100 mm focal distance. This enables the system cameras to capture objects at a large distance in great detail and to measure temperatures precisely. As a result, entirely new opportunities are being created for users in the field of thermographic temperature measurement.

Both ImageIR® 8100 and ImageIR® 9100 thermography systems operate in the short-wave infrared range (SWIR) and were specifically developed for thermographic measurement tasks which are characterised by high object temperatures and metrologically challenging materials. They expand the portfolio of thermographic system cameras from InfraTec and allow, among other things, emissivity-optimised measurements of temperatures on metal surfaces – in high temperature ranges between 300°C and 1,700°C. Other areas of application can be found, for example, in additive manufacturing and in laser applications or even in the metal industry in the area of welding processes or press hardening.
