Control Your Infrared Camera or Your Processes

You can include a trigger interface in your infrared camera of the ImageIR® 5300 series which allows to clock external processes or devices with the frequency of the camera or vice versa. Thereby a synchronous operation is guaranteed, e.g. of various measurement devices. As the infrared camera systems of the ImageIR® 5300 series come with a snapshot detector it is also possible to trigger the acquisition of thermal images by an external clock. Both trigger directions are optimally supported by the products of the thermographic software family IRBIS® 3 which also takes care of an easy handling of the settings.

Acquire Thermal Images in a Millisecond Time

The exact and fast control of the detectors of the ImageIR® 5300 infrared camera series provides the possibility to acquire and analyse thermal images at a time scale of milliseconds. Thereby it allows an easy analysis of fast processes regarding their thermal changes. Thermal images can be stored at a frame rate of up to 12 kHz and provide insights into thermal changes of fast running processes.

Easily Transfer Your Radiometric Data to the Computer

You will be able to work with both radiation proportional data formats and also directly with temperature data in °C or °F. You will receive the data by setting your specific parameters in the easy handling acquisition interface of the ImageIR® 5300 series at a frame rate of up to 12 kHz.

Measure Correctly with an Accuracy of +/- 1%

If your measurement object has a temperature of 18.7 °C you will always measure 18.7 °C and exactly this is taken care of by the infrared camera systems of the ImageIR® 5300 series. You can rely on a correct thermographic measurement with an accuracy of +/- 1%

Make Use of Spectral Filters for Material Specific Measurements

Material specific emissivity and transmissivity properties have to be taken into account while measuring with infrared camera systems. The integration of spectral filters makes use of those specifics for special measurements. For example, spectral ranges of thin PE foils can be excluded in case they are highly transmissive – to say transparent. Like this only the radiation will be measured which is purely emitted by the foil itself. Based on its long experience in thermography InfraTec can support you in selecting the right spectral filter. The infrared camera systems of the ImageIR® series can integrate a remotely controllable filter wheel which can hold up to four spectral filters. The filter position close to the detector can avoid warm aperture effects and allows for the usage of smaller and thereby cheaper filters in the infrared camera.

Extend Your Temperature Measurement Range with an Automatic Aperture Setting

The temperature measurement range of the ImageIR® infrared camera series can be widened by an integrated aperture wheel. The motorized aperture wheel can be controlled by the camera control itself. Working with calibrated measurement ranges the appropriate aperture will even be automatically set in the infrared camera. When filter and aperture wheels are separately integrated ImageIR® camera series will be especially flexible in handling specific measurement situations.

Detect Smallest Temperature Differences Using High Thermal Resolution of 20 mK

The thermal resolution of the ImageIR® infrared camera series allows you to measure smallest temperature differences of (at 30 °C). Thermal images with a narrow temperature span display details absolutely sharp. You will find interesting signatures even there where other infrared camera systems cannot detect any temperature differences any longer.

Highest Homogeneity will Provide You with a Brilliant Picture

A infrared camera out of the ImageIR® 5300 series offers highest homogeneity by combining cooled detector technology of the latest generation with other high precision components. Precise measurements therefore will not be influenced by any fixed pattern and thermal images will be absolutely clear.

Take Advantage of the Modular Concept for Your Flexibility

The closed, industrial-suited, high-strength aluminium alloy housing is very compact and protects the sensitive sensors and electronics even during roughest applications. It impresses with its low weight. The modular design allows for an application-specific configuration and later adaptation to varying demands. The interfaces are equipped with push-on connectors to uphold the degree of protection.

InfraTec accessories - SIL lens

Solid Immersion Lens (SIL) for ImageIR®

In order to make particularly small structures clearly visible, an infrared camera with a large detector format is suitable. In some cases, special measurement and testing tasks require a further increase in spatial resolution. In the field of micro-thermography, high-performance infrared microscopic lenses are used for this purpose. Their benefits can be further increased in conjunction with Solid Immersion Lenses (SIL). Mounted on the optics, these immersion media significantly improve the resolution of even the smallest structures in the µm range.

Further Functions

ImageIR filter wheel replacement

Multispectral Feature

The multispectral feature makes it possible to record sequences with constantly changing spectral filters. Images are recorded synchronously with a rapidly rotating filter wheel equipped with the filters. It may be possible to switch between up to seven filters, depending on the version. Due to this the multispectral measurement can be optimised to suit the measuring task if the preset ranges are unsuitable. The integration times can be adapted within the limits calibrated for this filter.

HighSense for thermographic camera series ImageIR®

HighSense – Always the Optimal Camera Setting

Thanks to HighSense, ImageIR® users have the option of setting up individual measuring ranges based on the factory calibration that best suit the respective task. Depending on the measuring task, the required temperature range can be selected and the optimum integration time for this purpose is calculated – or one decides to proceed in reverse order. Thus, the calibration can be retained even in the case of changed integration times.

InfraTec Service Calibration Rig

Auto Calibration

The Auto Calibration option expands the HighSense function to include automatic, dynamic adaptation of the integration time. This ensures the utmost temperature measuring accuracy and an optimised signal-to-noise ratio throughout the process. The wellfill of a detector is usually optimal in certain areas of the dynamic range. If the measured object signal is outside theses or user-specified limits, the integration time is readjusted.

InfraTec glossary - ImageIR® mobile wireless camera remote control

Mobile Wireless Camera Remote Control

Stationary camera systems are usually used PC-controlled. Alternatively, InfraTec offers a solution that makes the operation of the camera system even more versatile. An additional tablet PC is attached to the camera housing, which enables wireless control of all camera functions. The display solution allows access to all functions of the IRBIS® online control and acquisition software, delivered together with the camera.

InfraTec Glossary Motorfocus

Motor Focus for ImageIR® Full Lenses – More Comfort

All interchangeable standard lens systems of the ImageIR® series can be combined with a motor focus unit, which is controlled by the camera operating software. It enables precise, remote and fast focusing. In addition, an autofocus function is available which operates reliably even with low image contrasts.

Thermal image during ignition of an airbag Image Small

Window Mode (Subwindowing) – Capture of Rapid Sequences

The thermal imaging camera can be operated in full, half, quarter and sub mode. With the camera control software, it is possible to use the extended subwindowing function. Using click-and-drag, freely definable sections can be set up quickly and conveniently. A defined sub-frame of the detector is picked out to achieve these extremely high refresh rates.

Integrated Trigger / Process Interface and Interfaces – Digitally Controlling of a Infrared Camera and External Devices

The internal trigger interface guarantees highly precise, repeatable triggering. Each of the two configurable digital inputs and outputs are used to control the camera or to generate digital control signals for external devices. In this way, for example, the operation of a printed circuit board and the interval of a measurement can be synchronised.

The selection of different camera interfaces allows the processing of analog data, such as the voltage directly through the camera and thus the insertion of this information into the thermal image data. Relevant variables can be included in the evaluations with the software, which makes it easier to draw conclusions about the causes of temperature changes.

InfraTec thermography - Thermal resolution

Thermal Resolution – Determination of Differences of Only a Few Millikelvin

For detection of small temperature changes InfraTec's infrared cameras offer thermal resolutions up to < 15 mK in real-time operation. By using the Lock-in Thermography method it is possible to further increase this resolution significantly. For this purpose test objects are periodically excited and non-destructively examined for defects and irregularities.
